In case you didn’t know…
Chris Jericho officially signed with All Elite Wrestling in January 2019 and later revealed that it was the biggest contract of his career. Jericho had an incredible 2018 in New Japan Pro Wrestling and will continue wrestling for both New Japan and AEW going forward.
Brock Lesnar is the current WWE Universal Champion and recently beat Finn Balor at the WWE Royal Rumble. It looks like Lesnar will be defending the WWE Universal Championship against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 35.
The heart of the matter
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer had more to say about Jericho’s tweet. Meltzer said that similar to his tweets aimed at Kenny Omega in 2017, this could be Jericho angling for a match with Brock Lesnar. Meltzer did add that it was very unlikely that Vince would let Lesnar leave said:
What’s next?
Even if Chris Jericho does want a match with Brock Lesnar, it’s pretty unlikely that WWE would let it happen. The closest Lesnar will come to leaving WWE will probably using AEW as leverage for a bigger contract.
