Shortly afterwards Jericho was moved to the alumni section of WWE’s website, but things could have been very different if new rumors are to be believed.
In case you didn’t know…
Jericho was the big surprise for AEW appearing at the end of the Double or Nothing Rally with a huge firework display behind him. At the Rally, he revealed that he was ‘All In’ and would be appearing at the first show for All Elite Wrestling titled ‘Double or Nothing’
Jericho joins a list of several top independent names for the new promotion, with Cody, The Young Bucks and Adam ‘Hangman’ Page also signing for them.

The heart of the matter
Jericho signing for All Elite Wrestling seemed fairly obvious given his work with the ‘Elite’ in New Japan and the fact he was linked to the company when rumors started surfacing a few months ago.
However, Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that it might not have been a given and was a fairly recent decision as the ‘Ayatollah of Rock and Roll’ had talks with WWE as recently as just before Wrestle Kingdom 13.

Dave Meltzer also seemed to speculate that Jericho’s deal might not be a full-time deal like a lot of the other AEW talent will be on, using the basis that Jericho still wanted to continue his NJPW appearances.
What’s next?
Chris Jericho has always done what he wants as evident by the fact he put on an entire wrestling cruise last year. I look forward to his next venture.
