WWE 2K22 is the latest game in the WWE 2K series and the first since 2019’s WWE 2K20, which had a much-maligned release at the time due to a multitude of bugs plaguing it at launch. As mentioned above, the game features the largest launch roster in the history of WWE video games, ranging from current WWE stars, legends of the past, and even a few names who are now in New Japan, AEW, or working the independent scene. The game also saw the return of a general manager mode with MyGM, along with the MyRISE career mode and the 2K Showcase, the latter of which rewards players with alternate appearances for many of the game’s wrestlers.

However, the latest update for 2K22 dropped in some new appearances for players to choose from for Roman Reigns, Hulk Hogan, and Asuka. Twitter user Status noticed it while looking through the available appearances after the game updated and found the younger versions of said stars. He quickly posted the three to Twitter, offering a quick and better look at the stars during their earlier days in WWE.

Roman Reigns’ appearance is clearly closer to his days as part of the SHIELD and the short period after the group broke up in 2014. The giveaway is in how much longer his hair is compared to today due, in part, to Reigns’ trimming his hair around his ears.

The new appearance option for Hogan transports players right back to the days of Hulkamania in WWE from the later ’80s and early ’90s. Hogan’s hair and mustache are as blonde as can be, but the more noticeable difference is the comb-over he is sporting. By the time Hogan’s popularity exploded in WWE, he was already balding considerably but hadn’t started shaving the hair on top of his head the way he would by the time he left WWE in 1993.

Asuka’s new look is pulled straight from her Wrestlemania debut at Wrestlemania 34, where she challenged Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. When it comes to their gear, WWE stars typically try to show out for one of the company’s biggest annual shows, especially when they are in a title match. It was the case for Asuka at Wrestlemania 34, where she sported her signature dual-color hair with eye-catching gear, which still fell in line with previous gear designs she has sported before and since.

WWE 2K22 is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
