For those who missed the game’s disastrous launch back in 2019, the last iteration of the franchise, WWE 2K20, trended worldwide due to its series of insane bugs, technical issues, and overall lack of polish. In an effort to make up for the disappointing entry, developer Visual Concepts announced it would take a year out to work on the franchise, hopefully developing a game with fewer bugs than its previous release. It seems fans could be closer than ever to seeing exactly what Visual Concepts cooked up during its time away.
WrestleMania is the perfect time to reveal what the studio has been working on, especially with the annual wrestling event celebrating the WWE and its enduring legacy. This year’s event comes loaded with marquee matches and will be the first show since the onset of the pandemic to feature a live audience. Spread over two nights, it will see Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, and Edge square-off in a triple threat match for the Universal Championship, Sasha Banks take on Bianca Belair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship, and Drew McIntyre face Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship.
Other matches include ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt taking on Randy Orton, Asuka and Rhea Ripley competing for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship, Big E going head to head with Apollo Crews, and Cesaro battling Seth Rollins. it will even feature a few celebrity faces, with rapper Bad Bunny battling in a tag team bout and YouTuber Logan Paul aiding Sammy Zayn. The event looks to be filled with big moments for WWE fans, airing live on Peacock in the US and on the WWE Network in other parts of the world.
