The first way to farm Primal Chaos is to repeatedly complete dungeons, and targeting Heroic difficulty is perhaps the best option. Indeed, players will receive one Primal Chaos every time that they finish a Heroic dungeon, making them a consistent and manageable source for this reagent. Notably, it is believed that Mythic+ dungeons in WoW: Dragonflight will grant more than one Primal Chaos upon completion, and fans that are equipped for the challenge may want to focus their efforts on those when they become available.

Alternatively, fans can farm Primal Chaos by looting the Expedition Scout’s Packs and Disturbed Dirt Piles that are scattered across the Dragon Isles. For the uninitiated, these containers become accessible after reaching Level 2 and Level 5 with the Dragonscale Expedition in World of Warcraft, and the shovels that are needed to open the Disturbed Dirt Piles are purchased from Cataloger Jakes in The Waking Shores’ Dragonscale Basecamp. To note, Expeditions Scout’s Packs and Disturbed Dirt Piles also have a chance to award Dragon Isles Artifacts, which grant Dragonscale Expedition reputation, and that may push some players toward this Primal Chaos farming method.
While these may be the best options for taking a targeted approach to farming Primal Chaos, they are not only sources for this crafting material. Indeed, WoW: Dragonflight players can also obtain Primal Chaos by engaging with activities like PvP Battlegrounds and World Quests. In fact, a single World Quest can award multiple Primal Chaos, though the material will not always be listed among the rewards.
After players spend some time farming Primal Chaos, they may want to put their efforts toward obtaining Sparks of Ingenuity in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. This is yet another crafting material that is used to make Epic-quality items, though fans cannot farm for it initially. Instead, players that are trying to earn Sparks of Ingenuity will need to work through the Engine of Innovation quest line, which can be initiated in Valdrakken upon completion of the campaign.
