The rain delay lasted 17 minutes, from 11:58 p.m. ET to 12:15. The Cubs opened the 10th inning with a single by Kyle Schwarber.

Had the rain delay lasted long enough Wednesday night and it was determined play wouldn’t resume, the game would have been suspended and picked up Thursday.
