11:12 p.m.: Cubs win! Chapman goes 1 1/3 innings, and the Cubs get their first Fall Classic win since Oct. 8, 1945.
11:03 p.m.: Light rain in Cleveland as bottom of the ninth begins.
11 p.m.: And … on to the bottom of the ninth. Can we get this done before the rain starts?
10:53 p.m.: Chapman fans Ramirez. On to the ninth.
10:49 p.m.:
10:40 p.m.: Nothing doing for Cubs in eighth. They still lead 5-1.
10:31 p.m.: Montgomery strikes out Santana to strand the base runners. On to the eighth, Cubs lead 5-1.
10:28 p.m.: Roberto Perez walks with two outs. Runners on first and second.
10:15 p.m.: Rizzo flies out to left. Threat over.
10:11 p.m.: Bryant grounds to third, Indians get the force play at home. Two outs, bases still loaded.
10:07 p.m.: Fowler singles to load the bases with one out.
10:03 p.m.: Jeff Manship enters for Cleveland.
9:58 p.m.: Inning over with no more Indian damage. Cubs up 5-1 as we head to the seventh.
9:55 p.m.:
9:53 p.m.: Arrieta throws wild pitch, allowing Kipnis to score. 5-1 Cubs with one out.
9:48 p.m.: Kipnis with a one-out double to end Arrieta’s no-hitter bid.
9:41 p.m.: Cubs threaten, but don’t score. On to the bottom of the sixth.
9:35 p.m.: And the weather is starting to be a concern:
9:30 p.m.: Top of the sixth.
9:29 p.m.: Arrieta retires the side. He has not allowed a hit through five innings. Sorry if I just jinxed it, but not that sorry.
9:20 p.m.: Fowler strikes out to end the inning.
9:18 p.m.: Russell walks to score Schwarber. Cubs now up 5-0.
9:15 p.m.: Soler walks to load the bases. Jason Heyward pinch runs for Soler.
9:13 p.m.: Oh boy. Jason Kipnis bobbles a grounder and allows Contreras to reach first on an error.
9:08 p.m.: Schwarber singles up the middle to make it 4-0.
9:04 p.m.: Zobrist hits a rocket into right field for a triple. Rizzo scores to make it 3-0 Cubbies. Travis Shaw will relieve McAllister.
9:02 p.m.: Rizzo draws a one-out walk.
8:52 p.m.: Arrieta dealing as he retires Indians in order.
8:43 p.m.: Fowler strikes out to end the inning.
8:38 p.m.: Russell singles, and Terry Francona comes out to remove Bauer. RHP Zach McAllister enters.
8:36 p.m.: Willson Contreras draws a leadoff walk but is erased when Jorge Soler grounds into a double play.
8:27 p.m.: Indians down in order again. On to the fourth, Cubs up 2-0.
8:16 p.m.: Cubs retired. We head to the bottom of the third.
8:13 p.m.: Schwarber continues to impress. He singles to drive in Rizzo and send Zobrist to third. Chicago leads 2-0.
8:11 p.m.: Zobrist singles up the middle.
8:09 p.m.: Rizzo draws a two-out walk. Zobrist up to the plate.
8:02 p.m.: Arrieta retires the Indians in order. On to the third with Cubs up 1-0.
7:54 p.m.: Addison Russell with a long fly out to right field. On to the bottom of the second.
7:44 p.m.: Baez reaches on an infield single that Ramirez can’t field.
7:43 p.m.: Javy Baez steps up to the plate to face Bauer in the second.
7:39 p.m.: Jose Ramirez flies out to end the Indians’ threat. Cubs still up 1-0.
7:36 p.m.: And Arrieta issues another walk, this time to Mike Napoli.
7:32 p.m.: Francisco Lindor draws a two-out walk against Jake Arrieta.

7:28 p.m.: Carlos Santana pops out to start the Cleveland half of the first.
7:25: Kyle Schwarber strikes out to end the inning. Chicago leads 1-0.
7:21 p.m.: Ben Zobrist flies out to left.
7:15 p.m.: Anthony Rizzo doubles in Bryant, who scores the first Cubs World Series run since 1945. 1-0 Chicago.
7:11 p.m.: Kris Bryant singles with one out.
7:08 p.m.: Game 2 is under way as Dexter Fowler take a ball from Trevor Bauer, who appears not to be bleeding.
